Open Labor Project
Free labor times for every vehicle, 1955 to today.
A free, open automotive data platform: labor times, torque specifications, fluid capacities, OBD-II trouble codes, battery specs, and full repair procedures. Free on the web for everyone, with an API for builders.
The long version
Repair data is the most quietly expensive thing in a shop. The incumbents charge upward of $180 a month for numbers that should be common knowledge, and they stop caring about a vehicle the moment it gets old.
The Open Labor Project puts that data in the open. Labor times, torque specs, fluid capacities, OBD-II codes, battery specs, and step-by-step procedures, across a catalog that runs from 1955 to today. The pre-OBD2 era everyone else abandoned is covered on purpose.
Web access is free for everyone. Procedures are expert reviewed, and sponsors can move a vehicle to the front of the generation queue and put their name on it.
The API has a free hobbyist tier with attribution and paid tiers for volume. It is also the data layer under ShopBase and Recon Desk, which is why those products can include real labor times instead of reselling somebody else's feed.
